Tanzania, Serengeti National Park, Simba Kopjes. Lion cub resting up on one of the kopjes, ancient granite outcrops that adorn the southern Serengeti savanna grasslands and acacia woodlands. The word kopje, derives from the Afrikaans meaning little head. They are hundreds of millions of years old. They look like rock castles in an ocean of grass. Early dry season.
