What file sizes do you require?
Hi-res jpegs generated at Level 12 from minimum of 18mega pixel camera.
What cameras do you accept?
Professional level DSLR of not less than 18mp, ideally not more than 5 years old.
Do you take drone images?
Yes, from higher end drone cameras such as the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and DJI Inspire, or larger.
Do you take footage/motion clips?
No, AWL Images specialises in supplying the highest quality single images.
Do you accept black and white images?
Yes. Go for the evocative and atmospheric. To sell, B&W images need to be of the highest creative and technical quality. Bold architectural images, textural images, portraits, dreamy landscapes, all work in black & white.
Do you accept news or photo-reportage/photojournalistic images?
No. AWL Images is a specialist travel image library. We see the beauty in the world. There are other libraries who specialise in hard news and the gritty side of life.
How long does it take to assess my initial enquiry to join AWL?
We aim to get back to you within two weeks.
How long does it take to edit my low res submission?
Submissions are normally edited within a week of receipt unless one of the editors is away.
How do I send you my hi-res images once selected?
We can accept hi-res files by Dropbox, Wetransfer, FTP or if you are operating away from internet access we can accept images on DVD or pendrive.
How long does it take to upload my hi-res?
Every image that comes into the library as hi-res is checked for technical quality and then undergoes a separate metadata check. We aim to upload images as quickly as possible but at periods of high activity this can take 2-3 weeks.
How often do you pay photographers?
Quarterly. We send out Royalty statements and payments at the end of January, April, July and October.
What is the royalty split between AWL Images and contributors?
Contributors receive 50% of the net fee received by the library. AWL Images has a long-held commitment to support photographers and offers one of the best royalty percentages available in the market.
Do you employ or commission photographers?
No. But we work very closely with our contributing photographers. Each photographer has a direct working relationship with one of the AWL Editors. We offer detailed advice on what to shoot and how to shoot the most saleable images based on our many years of experience.
Do you sell worldwide?
Yes, absolutely, both directly and through our carefully selected network of partner agencies via whom we reach all of the major markets in the world.
Do you promote our images on social media?
Yes. We actively promote our photographers’ work through regular e-mail newsletters to clients, on our AWL Images Blog and via all of our social media channels.

So that we can fully rights manage your images and maximise the earning potential from your images.
