Amar is a London-based freelance travel writer, copywriter and photographer. He's spent over 30 years travelling the highways and by-ways of South Asia - particularly the Indian subcontinent and China - plus the Middle East, Europe and odd corners of Africa.
Growing up amidst piles of National Geographic magazines (virtually every edition since around 1965) helped inspire both real and visual curiosity about the world. He prefers a more documentary style of photography which is driven by the fact that most of his assignments are literary, often writing features for newspapers and magazines. His imagery is often used to illustrate these articles, particularly in Geographical Magazine.
Favourite photographers include Eric Valli, Olivier Follmi and Raghu Rai
