Markus started photography in 1992. At that time he was fascinated by black-and-white photographers such as Irving Penn or Man Ray. Later on, he discovered Karl Blossfeldt’s photos of plants.
Around 1995 Markus started to travel through Europe and Asia, with his trusted Mamiya 7 and in 2006 switched to digital photography and by 2008 became a professional travel photographer.
For Markus photography is all about finding the right moment and the right connection, be it the one with nature or the bond between humans and the most impressive journeys are the ones that lead to places with unexpected beauty and the unknown.
