How do I register on your site?

How much are your images?

For RM images the prices varies depending on use, for RF images the prices is determined by the size of file

What are RM and RF images?

RM images are licenced for specific, often one time, uses while RF images have a virtually unlimited licence

If I buy an image do I own it?

No, images always remain the copyright of the photographer and you’re only buying a licence to use or publish an image as agreed.

Are your images free?

No, all our images are taken by experienced photographers who bear many costs in order to produce their images, and many make their living from licencing their images via AWL.

How can I use an image that I buy from you?

AWL licences images mainly for publishing in books, magazines, calendars, for advertising etc. We also offer framed or canvas prints via our print on demand site www.discoverimages.com

Can I buy a print of one of your images?

Yes by visiting our print on demand site www.discoverimages.com where a variety of products in a variety of sizes are available from many of our best images.

What can I do on your site once I register?

Once registered you can not only search all our images but also use lightboxes and make orders to download hi-res files – trusted and approved professional buyers can also gain instant access to our hi-res files.

What sizes are your images?

We have various sizes for our RF images (see the Pricing & Licencing page), and our RM are available mostly at 50mb (tif equivalent) or higher. File sizes are shown on the preview page (accessed by clicking on an image thumbnail)

How do I pay for images?

We are primarily a B2B agency so we accept payment by bank transfer after issuing an invoice. We also accept PayPal and in some instances Credit Cards too (via a paypal online interface)

I am a new buyer, can I still download your images?

For new clients we usually require payment before releasing the hi-res files unless you are a very well known publication or business.

Are all your images available in my country?

All our images are available in the UK and most available worldwide too though some collections are not available in all territories. Once register and logged in you will only see images available to you in the country you marked in your registration.

Can I buy exclusive rights to your images?

Yes, check with us if you are interested – this is especially useful for cover images where you do not wish a competitor to use the same image.

Are your captions accurate?

We ask all photographers to provide accurate captions with accurate location information and we check many of the images that we represent on AWL.

Do I need a model or property release to publish an image?

It depends. Check with us if you’re unsure.

How much do you pay your photographers when I buy an image?

Photographers receive 50% of every sale we make (we also represent some agent collections in which case we pay the agent 60% of the fee)

Do you offer free picture research?

Yes we can, please ask. We know our images and our geography rather well.

Can I see my previous downloads when I log in?

Yes, under the ‘My Account’ menu click on ‘Orders’. You can also see all your invoices if you click on ‘Invoices in the same menu.

I’ve forgotten my password, what do I do?

Click Log In and on the page that loads you’ll see a ‘retrieve password’ option under the purple log in button.
