Nadia Isakova was born and grew up in Russia, not far away from Leningrad (modern St Petersburg). After graduating from Saint Petersburg Mining University with a degree in metallurgical engineering she moved to live in the UK. Her passion for photography started as a school-girl when her parents bought her first camera, a Russian Zenit. She became fascinated by traditional film black and white photography and then moved into colour.
In those days, Russians were not able to travel abroad easily. Nadia’s dreams of foreign lands, with their imagined beauty, peoples, and cultures developed into a passion for travel and landscape photography. Her dreams have come true, as now she travels as much as she can. She loves her images to inspire others to travel too. Most of all, she loves taking images of reflections and the mist, of isolated places, natural patterns and shapes. When not photographing, Nadia works in an international commodity trading house and enjoys fencing sabre.
